brady has started to have to sit next to me when we read books now, there's no room left for him to sit on my lap and lean back into my comfortably with the baby bump. he does occasionally forget not to push his elbow into me when trying to get up & i have to gently remind him - ouch! i kind of miss him snuggling into me on my lap though.

comparison.
apostle baby profile comparison...
baby girl at around 20 weeks:
bradykins at around 20 weeks:
do you think they look alike? i kind of do.
22 week ultrasound.
we had our anatomy ultrasound on thursday of this past week, a little later than the 20 week goal, but it was so much fun to see little miss!! she was kicking and rolling around and the best part, which made us laugh outloud several times (and even the ultrasound tech) - she kept pulling her toes down towards her head with her little hands. so adorable to see those classic baby movements in utero! thankfully, she looks healthy and normal developmentally. we are so grateful!

happy to see you, baby girl! you look adorable already, obviously.
22 weeks.
22 weeks already. hard to believe. i was sitting in church this morning thinking, in 18 weeks (or less) i'll be holding a sweet newborn in my arms. i'm almost giddy thinking about it, and somewhat overwhelmed already about it. i imagine that's pretty normal, facing the transition from one to two babies. and brady simultaneously seems much older all of a sudden, and still my little chubby baby himself. it's hard to imagine having him be the older child, and having a new little. i'm so grateful to get to be in this season of my life though - i think of our family growing all the time, and i'm so grateful to get to experience it this year.
so, 22 weeks.
i'm feeling great, and have tons of energy. no food aversions or cravings to speak of. feeling baby move tons, she's active like brady was - even in the middle of the night! i'm sleeping poorly, waking up to pee often and having trouble falling back asleep but i remember that second trimester insomnia with brady too so must be normal. thankfully i haven't gone back to work yet, so i'm able to sleep in even if i've been awake at night. we are working on a name for baby girl but undecided yet on either first or middle. i'm so grateful to be loving coffee & look forward to my quiet mornings with a cup again. i've been absolutely obsessed on pinterest planning baby girl's bedroom. it's so exciting (i love decorating in general, so a girl room is extra fun).
i've been able to work out more this pregnancy so far, and feel good doing it. it's good for me mentally, and a nice break for brady & me on long cold winter days when we don't get out much otherwise. he gets to play in a new environment, and i get some endorphins out of it. win-win! i've gained ten pounds so far with this pregnancy, and i don't remember where i was at this point with brady but i gained a lot with him overall and i feel smaller at 22 weeks than i did with him - so hopefully i'm more where i should be. i'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans (with belly band, they're nowhere near zipping but fit otherwise), and with little man i was out of them near the end of my first trimester. also with brady, i was STARVING all the time - i felt like food had never tasted so good. this pregnancy it feels more normal eating, like the amount or frequency i was when not pregnant. maybe just the difference in a boy vs girl pregnancy? anyway, we'll see what happens towards the end of things when weight gain is faster - but for now, i'm grateful to be feeling good and not feeling as huge as i did with brady. that was a little hard on my body, especially towards the end when i was so swollen.
looking forward to my glucose test in a couple weeks (NOT) and hopefully continuing to feel good as i round out my second trimester next month!

20 weeks.
my official 20 week photo from 2/6/15 in mexico!
the day before, when we were leaving for the airport.
i'm halfway there! or more than that, if baby comes early like B did.
hard to believe. the first trimester with this pregnancy was way harder, more nausea and fatigue - but then, i was chasing a two year old non stop also. anyway, felt like those weeks dragged on forever. but suddenly, i'm 20 weeks pregnant!! these last couple of months have flown by. i'm feeling so great at this stage, the golden days of pregnancy. i'm still wearing my regular jeans with a belly band, and exercising regularly while feeling good, and eating normally again (after the every-90-minutes eating of my first 14 weeks). i have energy again and love being able to get up in the morning before everyone else without feeling exhausted. during my first trimester, i slept until brady woke up - usually well into the 8 o'clock hour. now i'm waking up on my own at 7 and having a cup of coffee, and feeling so much more rested and ready for the day by the time little man is up. i'm a morning person by nature and "sleeping in" til 8:30 or 9 was actually kind of hard on me emotionally; but i couldn't drag myself out of bed any earlier so i just slept.
i go in for my next OB appointment on thursday 2/19, one day before i turn 22 weeks. i'll have the big anatomy ultrasound then too, so we get to see baby girl again. always love that. we are still tossing around lots of girl names & haven't settled on anything yet. have a few that we like, but nothing has really felt 100% like her. working on middle names too- at this point with brady's pregnancy, we at least knew his middle name!
cheers to being halfway done! can't wait to meet little miss.
full circle.
when i was a little girl, i was obsessed with and collected, all things scotty dog.
i'm so happy to have found this little outfit for baby girl!!

babymoon 2015.
mike & i just got back from an AWESOME babymoon to riviera maya, mexico!!
we went away for four nights/five days of total relaxation. stayed at an all-inclusive resort and did nothing but eat really good food, read books & relax. oh, and listen to the ocean waves. it was absolutely perfect & much needed. we have had a super busy couple of months with work and school, and the time to reconnect and just enjoy uninterrupted time together was priceless. also, the escape from february in colorado was much appreciated:) we had such a good time celebrating this little pregnancy & all we have to look forward to this coming year! i turned 20 weeks while we were there, halfway done! (or more than, if baby girl comes early like B did)
enjoyed my FIRST cup of coffee since october!! the perfect place to enjoy one!
20 weeks : 2/6/2015
meanwhile, back at the ranch...
aunt janie came to stay with bubby while we were gone. as you can tell, they hardly like each other! these two had a great weekend together & we were so grateful to know he was having a fun staycation while we vacationed!

saying hi to daddy!
mike got to feel baby move last night for the first time! january 31st.
we were laying in bed and she was doing her usual kicky kicky once i got still, and i could see my belly moving with her so i had mike put his hand there and she gave three solid kicks hello. we both laughed & smiled big. those little firsts never get old. i think i was further along with brady when mike was first able to feel him, so maybe this baby is sitting a little further forward in my belly. as of today, i'm 19w2d along. with brady, we were in mexico when he first felt him, which was during my 22nd week. so exciting!!
