wedding excitement.

our beautiful kate got married yesterday!!! it was the most perfect day & they threw an amazing FUN party after the ceremony.  sooooo glad baby girl stayed put through the wedding weekend, i was afraid she would make an early debut & i would miss the wedding. i woke up this morning more sore than i imagined but i did dance my LEGS off at the reception and wore heels for most of the day, so i think that's to be expected at 9 months pregnant :)

congrats to daddy on graduating with his mba!!! we got a sitter last night, and baby girl & i danced the night away celebrating him.  so proud of his huge accomplishment!

mama's birthday.

we went out for lunch on my birthday! it was a gorgeous 70 degree day, which called for flip flops & patio seating. had such a good day with my boys and feeling so grateful for all we are looking forward to this year...

babymoon 2015.

mike & i just got back from an AWESOME babymoon to riviera maya, mexico!!

we went away for four nights/five days of total relaxation. stayed at an all-inclusive resort and did nothing but eat really good food, read books & relax.  oh, and listen to the ocean waves. it was absolutely perfect & much needed. we have had a super busy couple of months with work and school, and the time to reconnect and just enjoy uninterrupted time together was priceless. also, the escape from february in colorado was much appreciated:)  we had such a good time celebrating this little pregnancy & all we have to look forward to this coming year!  i turned 20 weeks while we were there, halfway done! (or more than, if baby girl comes early like B did)

 meanwhile, back at the ranch...

aunt janie came to stay with bubby while we were gone. as you can tell, they hardly like each other! these two had a great weekend together & we were so grateful to know he was having a fun staycation while we vacationed!

dear baby.

dear little baby sister, 

your brother will soon be a big boy helping me take care of you. i know he will be such a good helper, as he is with all things around our home. but for now, he's still my baby. and most days it's hard for me to imagine him not sleeping in his crib, with his binkies & his sleepsack, and all his animals (and the occasional garbage truck).  it's hard for me to imagine YOU sleeping in this same white crib, wrapped in a swaddle, with your own little pink binkies.  but at the same time, i know in no time at all, we will wonder how we ever didn't have you in our family.  i'm so excited for you to join us & to grow my heart and our little family in immeasurable ways, just as bubba has done before you.  we can't wait for you to be part of our adventure.

Christmas Eve service.

Christmas Eve services at church. we loved the candlelight service as usual & it was fun to sit together for our last Christmas as a family of three. trying to soak up every second of this season with bubby at the perfect age to enjoy it all.  oh! and every SINGLE time we ask brady, "does mommy have a baby brother or a baby sister in her tummy?" he says, "baby sister!" :)

date night.

last night we had a little date night to old town for mike's work holiday party. we had the best time hanging out with his partners & also announcing my pregnancy more publicly! i sipped happily on coke the whole evening and laughed a lot with the other wives, and was so glad to feel well enough to go to one of their social events finally (we missed one in early november because i couldn't drag myself off the couch in the throes of early nausea).  yay for nearing the end of my first trimester!

december thaw.

this week has been absolutely beautiful weather, so this afternoon before naptime we took the golf cart up to the tavern and got fries for mama to snack on along with a purple gatorade (brady's fave) and enjoyed the perfect blue sky and some golf practice together. i love these days together so much!

Christmas card session.

desi shot our family Christmas card photos last week, actually on the day we found out we were pregnant again. so awesome to look at this photo and know that we knew another little baby was growing inside me - makes me so happy to know they're part of the family photo already!

announcing it.

the night before i found out i was pregnant, jen & i had been out on a dinner date together.  i jokingly said to her, "this might be my last glass of wine" as i told her there was a CHANCE i was pregnant.  as in, a minor chance.  i was really joking around with her, but the next day she texted me about it so i told her...

we texted with noa & julie that morning also.  they were still in the hospital after having their baby mila.

and i texted kate as well, since she knew - again that there was a chance - and this was her response.

the other people we told that first day were of course, rob & suzanne, since we were headed their way for two weeks together and it would be blatantly obvious when i declined a glass of wine.

my family doesn't know yet, and i've ALMOST told them about 500 times already.  but ruthie is coming out to visit in a few days and i really want to tell her in person.  i have an ultrasound the first morning she's here and if all looks good, i'll put brady in his big brother shirt to announce it to her and then we will text or call the rest of my fam.  i just think if i get to tell ONE person face-to-face, that's more fun!!  it's hard to live far from my family during times like this because i would love nothing more than to have brady just walk into a family get-together in his big brother shirt.  oh well!  getting to share the news with ruthie here will be fun.  the rest of the world we will announce it to after i pass the first trimester mark.
